There are many types of spill absorbent products designed for different applications. For example, you can choose absorbents for oil spills, absorbents for chemical, and absorbents for spilled liquids of other kinds, such as water or unknown liquids. Absorbents are designed to help you with fast and effective spill control. There are spill containment absorbents designed for spills of all sizes – from small machinery leaks to larger oil spills on water.
Colour coding is designed to make it easier for users to identify the right spill absorbent in an emergency. For example, Universal Absorbents are used for water, oil, coolants and solvents and are always grey, blue and yellow. Oil Absorbent products are used for oil, fuels and petroleum-based products without absorbing water – they are white and brown. HazMat products are for acids, bases, corrosives, water, oil, coolant, solvents and unknown liquids, and are pink in colour.
Spill absorbents come in many different forms: absorbent mats, absorbent socks, absorbent booms, spill containment absorbents, and more. They all absorb liquids, but each type of spill absorber will work best when used in the right application. For example, absorbent rolls and mat pads are primarily designed to line aisles and walkways to soak up puddled spills and catch leaks around machinery. Absorbent socks are ideal for spill control – they are designed to stop a leak or spill from spreading. And loose absorbents can get into those hard-to-reach places where other spill absorbents can’t. They are better versions of spill kitty litter made from cellulose, not clay.
